### Please describe the problem.

`git annex status` does not report the fact that some files have been added but not yet committed.

### What steps will reproduce the problem?

    $ # alwayscommit = false
    $ echo "new" > new-file
    $ git annex status
    ? new-file
    $ git annex add
    add new-file
    $ git annex status
    $

Using the `git status` command directly will show the added files

    $ git -c core.bare=false status --porcelain | grep -v '^ T'
    AT new-file
