• To say having an allergy feels like being bitten by an alligator would be to make or draw an analogy between an allergy and an alligator bite. Analogy usually refers to similarities between things that are not otherwise very similar. If you don't think an allergy is at all like an alligator bite, you might say, "That analogy doesn't hold up." To say that there is no analogy between an allergy and an alligator bite is to say that they are not analogous.
  알레르기가 있는 것을 악어에게 물리는 것과 같은 느낌이라고 표현하는 것은 알레르기를 악어에게 물어뜯기는 느낌에 비유하는 것이다. analogy 는 일반적으로 아주 똑같지 않은 비교대상에서 유사점을 언급하는 것이다. 만약 여러분이 알레르기와 악어의 물어뜯기가 전혀 비슷하지 않다고 생각한다면 "그 비유는 유효하지 않다"고 말해도 좋다. 알레르기와 악어의 물어뜯기 사이에 유사점이 없다고 말한다면, 그 둘이 비슷하지 않다고 말하는 것이다.
