* @'tailDef' :: /[a]/ -> [a] -> [a]@, takes a default to return on errors.

* @'tailNote' :: /String/ -> [a] -> [a]@, takes an extra argument which supplements the error message.

* @'tailSafe' :: [a] -> [a]@, returns some sensible default if possible, @[]@ in the case of @tail@.
